Wintergarden is planning a "Varietè-Revue" on the theme of Japan for the year 2017/18: Since the opening of Japan towards the end of the 19th century, after 250 years of isolation, the enthusiasm for this country continues throughout Europe to the present day Days. Still, this country, wrapped in the veil of mysticism, inspires its art, culture and music, artists from all directions. Against this backdrop, theatrical director, stage designer and director Stephan Prattes creates the extravagant "theater variety revue": SAYONARA TOKYO ... three congenial friends are on their way to Tokyo and explore the land of the rising sun, from which they already thought To know everything. On their turbulent journey through the history, culture and music of Japan they discover another, exotic and unknown face of this millennial culture. In their adventures in the world of manga, they dance through decades of Japanese-German pop history and are enchanted by the traditional and modern culture of Nippon. World class acrobatics and captivating dance choreographies meet innovative 3D sound effects and interactive video installations in this stunning genre mix. PARADE explores life’s moments in which we adorn costumes and masks in order to celebrate, protest, or simply fit in with a crowd. The show is a modern and intoxicating blend of gorgeous imagery, humor, and outstanding acrobatics that will astound you, all the while proving how wonderfully unique contemporary circus can be.
